Bourbon Balls

Kentucky is famous for a couple of things, especially its Bourbon whiskey. I am not a big fan of alcohol, as a matter of fact, I am super sensitive to alcohol. However, when Bourbon is added to dishes or chocolate, it’s actually really good. That Bourbon chicken dish is one of my favorite dishes here. Also Bourbon balls are the famous local chocolate. Last year, we visited Ruth Hunt Candies and those Bourbon balls were my favorite in the gift box. This time, we accidentally found another local candy store Rebecca Ruth Candies from Frankfort back home. The lady in the store was kind enough to introduce the history of the candy and owner of the store. Their Bourbon balls taste a little different from Ruth Hunt’s with a stronger Bourbon flavor in it. It’s hard to say which one is better since it’s quite subjective. Personally, I like Ruth Hunt’s better because of their less alcohol taste and more refined sweetness.
