Red River Gorge

There are many campgrounds here in Kentucky and I never knew that. The last time I camped was in Cincinnati when it was really crowded and tiny. Red River Gorge, one of many camping resorts here, is around 1 hour drive east from Lexington, Kentucky and it’s a fairly close spot for camping and the National park is huge. There are many camping spots in this canyon area. Although it is not the best time to camp right now, I really enjoyed this mini trip on a warm and sunny Saturday. It is still a little far from the famous Appalachian Mountains, but the hilly areas in this National Bridge State Resort Park did make you feel there is not much difference. Lexington may not be a busy metropolitan city, but surely it’s a great city to enjoy the great outdoors around it.
