Kentucky is famous for its horses and horse racing because it’s said that bluegrass is very good for horses. You can tell that horses is the symbol of this area. Ruth Hunt Candies is located at Mt.Sterling, about 40 minutes away from Lexington, and it’s the official candy maker for the famous Kentucky Derby. Mt. Sterling is a very small city and we passed there several times to get Krystal burgers. Obviously, Ruth Hunt Candies is the most famous landmark in this city. Originally, we thought we could take the dogs to the mountains for a hike, but it was raining that day. So we pretty much spent the whole time in the candy store. I walked out of the store with a bag of Yogurt Malted Milk Balls but Ken bought lots of candies and chocolates. I really loved that Bourbon chocolates with pecans on top. Hunting for Kentucky local stuff is always nothing but fun.
